10Pearls recently organized CodeFest 2017 in Karachi, the competition was held in December and provided an opportunity for participants to test their skills against the best talent in the city through a speed programming contest.
More than 300 teams, comprising IT professionals and computer science graduates, registered for the competition, which was designed to test the coding and analytical skills of participants within a specific time constraint. This ensured that CodeFest 2017 not only judged the contestants’ proficiency in programming but also their ability to work successfully in a high-pressure environment.
Team FEGit was declared the winner of the competition, taking home the grand prize of Rs 50,000, while the runner-up position went to K-Team. Addressing the prize distribution ceremony, 10Pearls Managing Director Zeeshan Aftab explained the idea behind holding an event like CodeFest 2017:
“We are supporting activities like this to create an ecosystem that allows professionals to improve their skillsets, compete with the best and contribute back to the community.”
With CodeFest 2017 turning out to be a huge success, 10Pearls University plans on holding more such events in the future, including training sessions, workshops, webinars and technology competitions on a countrywide basis. All these efforts will elevate Pakistan’s talent pool and contribute to the country’s IT exports.
