Big Data and Analytics

Big Data and Analytics are among the hottest technology topics in the industry right now. Nauman Sheikh takes a unique view and tries to democratize Analytics to all aspects of a business and also open it up to small and medium enterprises that typically do not rely on analytics to carry out their business. He does that by simplifying the concept, breaking down the design and implementation using existing technology pieces allowing for analytics solutions to be built without multi-million dollar investment in technology or hiring PhDs in mathematics.

Specifically for the Pakistani market, he sees opportunity for small consulting firms to build specialization in certain areas of business and apply analytics based decision strategies to serve their local and foreign clients. He will be presenting a simplified implementation roadmap that smaller firms can quickly adopt and will share various examples in theft and fraud detection, inventory management and customer care, etc. to give the audience an idea of the possibilities. His presentation will show that lack of historical data and lack of trained statistical modelers is not an impediment to building a competitive edge using analytics.
