About P@SHA

P@SHA was formed in 1992 by a number of software and IT companies to create a functional trade association for the IT industry of Pakistan.

Primary aim of the association was to form a strong cluster of IT and IT enabled companies that can lobby with the government to develop policies and initiatives that will encourage the development of the IT industry and attract more member companies to join the industry.

Over the last 3 decades, the scope and impact of the association scaled manyfold with four main pillars including, industry engagement, government relations, brand and global outreach, skill and capacity development. There are other industry sector initiatives as well as special initiatives taken up by the association to support the IT industry.

Today P@SHA is over 1000+ members strong and remains the only National IT Association demonstrating its commitment to the growth of the IT sector in Pakistan. P@SHA is supporting its member organizations in building a conducive environment to operate while lobbying with the Government, building a global brand and visibility, and initiating programs to build skills and capacity of the IT industry of Pakistan.

P@SHA acts as the voice of the industry. Over the years it has dealt with issues that no company could manage single-handedly; such as providing input on policies, legislation and incentives related to the industry, for organizations in the IT industry. Sponsored career events and salary surveys are also conducted regularly to assist in the growth of a dynamic sector.

P@SHA has made consistent efforts to ensure that the right policy frameworks are employed for continued growth and development. The Government is also being encouraged to act as a facilitator in creating a certain consistency in growth rates. Efforts to promote Pakistan’s IT industry internationally are being channeled through trade and technical delegations sent to all corners of the world.

P@SHA has gained international recognition by having won several awards in the Asia Pacific ICT awards. Pakistani companies are involved in leading-edge work, thereby helping the software; services and outsourced industry grow at an enormous pace.
